From CMS letter:

• Between September 15‐30: 2012 "Medicare & You" handbook will be mailed to Medicare beneficiaries.
• By September 30: All plans must mail their current members the ANOC (Annual Notice of Change) and EOC (Evidence of Coverage). These notices tell members about any changes forthe 2012 plan year.
•October 1: Organizations are allowed to begin marketing their 2012 plans.
•By October 2: Plans that are not renewing their contract for 2012 or whose contract is terminated by CMS for 2012 must send their current members a letter notifying them that their current coverage will end on December 31, 2011.
• By October 6: Plan Ratings go live on Medicare Plan Finder.
• By October 6: Tentative date for 2012 Plan data to go live on Medicare Plan Finder.
• October 15: Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) begins. People with Medicare can make changin their Medicare coverage by enrolling in a different Part D plan, changing from MedicareAdvantage to Original Medicare, or vice versa.
• December 7: Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) ends.
•January 1, 2012: Effective date of all AEP‐related enrollments and disenrollments.
