Making healthy eating choices at the deli are not that hard if you remember a few tips:

Cut out processed meats. Instead of salami, bologona or pepperoni choose turkey, chicken breast or lean roast beet.

Choose 100% whole wheat, rye or pumpernickel bread over a bagle or roll.

Add plenty of raw veggies and leave off extra cheese and mayo. Use mustard instead of mayo.

Mustard is an excellent swap. If you like spicy foods, nearly all hot sauces are low (or no!) calorie, and a little goes a long way. And if you're having deli at home, Hellmann's Dijonnaise is an amazing low-calorie spread. It has a small amount of the zing from Dijon mustard, and it's creamy like mayo.
