Medicare will soon begin rewarding hospitals that are able to hold down costs and penalize those that do not. Now this is an idea I like. Why shouldn't hospitals be accountable for expenditures? Private business is accountable to their stockholders why shouldn't hospitals be accountable to the Medicare program that pays them billions of dollars?
