Medigap

I'm considering Medigap coverage for the first time. Age 66 and in good health but I have had a couple of issues int he past ... heart bypass 2006 and left knee replacement in 2010. I have the opportunity to sign up for 2014 with no consideration of my medical history. And the plan looks good ... AARP United Health. My company is contributing $3000 as a special incentive towards my medical costs every year for the rest of my life. Or I could wait another year before I move to a new plan. Is this a good thing to do ... move to a Medigap at age 66 while I'm in relative good health? Anyone have experience with AARP or United Health Medigap they're willing to share?
