If a Medicare doctor agrees to privately contract with a medicare patient they could be barred from filing any Medicare claims for 2 years!

To remedy that situation the Medicare Patient Empowerment Act (H.R. 1700) has been introducted, which allows a senior on Medicare to privately contract with any physician.
