Raising Medicare Age Would Save Big Bucks

By raising the Medicare elgibility age to 67 the federal government would realize a savings of $148 billion over a ten year period.

That sounds good, but what about those 65 and 66 year old people who now have to purchase health care on their own? Have you actually PRICED private health care for a 65 or 66 year old? In many cases it would take their ENTIRE social security check to pay for it!

So let's not be so quick to jump on this idea as it might cause more problems than it fixes.

Gotta agree with Guy on this one, I am 65 and just went on Medicare and the price I paid for health insurance last year was through the roof! Sometimes the government just focuses on one idea and don't look at the problems they create.
