Switched from G to N supplement but I am unsure about this move.

I switched from G to N supplement but I am unsure about this move.

I switched from a Manhattan Life G supplement to a Cigna N supplement
but I am unsure it was the correct decision.

Reason for switching is because of long-term possible higher premium increases
on G being greater than N. From my research G has Guarantee Issue enrollment were N does not.
This fact may cause higher premium rates for G. Many internet agents say G will have higher increases
I am really unsure of this fact.

I also question moving from Manhattan Life to Cigna in Indiana. I don't know which company would
keep premiums at a lower increases.

After doing all my research and making this move I still don't feel like I had accurate data to base
my decision on. My data was conflicting.

Where can a person get accurate data to predict premium increases on supplements in Indiana?

Any suggestions and advice about this move?

Thank

Plan G just became Guarantee Issue in 2020 so it will take many years before enough enrollees use the GI provision for it to make an impact on premiums.

Unhealthy people turning 65 tend to choose the most comprehensive supplement available, which used to be Plan F. This is why Plan F premiums are more than G+Part B deductible. Unhealthy people turning 65 today are filling up the Plan G enrollment pools. Combined with more healthy people choosing Advantage plans, these factors are causing Plan G premiums to increase in the near term. I believe you made the correct decision in switching to Plan N as long as the "up to $20" office visit copays do not become an issue.

Nobody can honestly tell you what future premiums will look like for a specific company or a specific plan. Several extremely unhealthy enrollees can make a difference and it just depends on where they land. The website below tracks Plan F/G/N premium changes for some, but not all carriers and can give you a broad look at general tendencies. Let me know if you have any other questions.

The G to N decision I made was a tuff and somewhat little scary move. I think Cigna is
is a larger company than Manhattan life with a stronger presence in Indiana. With that in
mind I think Cigna would have more policy holders in Indiana. Cigna's larger groups may be
a buffer from increases but I have no data to back that up. That is the reason for my company
change but again I am very unsure that change.

I will take a closer look that the above website.

Thank you,
