Thanks, Mack. My husband and I are both 65 and will be 66 next June. We signed up for Medicare when we turned 65 this June and took only part A because we are covered by my husband's employer. My husband has decided in the last few days to take a "voluntary layoff" his employer is offering. The business was sold last month and we are unsure how long we will continue to have insurance through the business (the previous owner gave three months, but the new owner has said he is deciding that now). This is a little unsettling since the layoff date is only three weeks away. How long will it take to get part B and Part D set up? I assume we should wait until the employer lets us know whether we will be covered, but waiting makes me nervous.
