Yet Another Fix Medicare Article

Everyone seems to have their own ideas on how to fix Medicare. They usually fall into one of two general categories, depending on if one is Republican or Democrat.

The linked article below is nothing new, the author supports something similar to the Ryan plan which would provide vouchers that allow people to shop for private insurance.

My problem with this plan is simple and it is answered by asking this question: Have you shopped for private health insurance lately? It is outrageous and if you think Seniors will be getting a bargain by being "allowed" to shop for their own insurance then I beg to differ.

I have to agree with you Guy, if we have to shop for our own health insurance we are done for. Might as well let the fox in the henhouse. Medicare has worked for 50 years, it just needs a little tweaking. If you listen to the doomsday people then it will go broke next year. Just like Social Security, which has worked for 75 years, there are those who want to take that private too. I suspect those same people (or their supporters) are the ones who are major stockholders in insurance companies and wall street and I am sure they are licking their chops to get their hands on more of our money than they already have.
