There are different Medigap policy premiums based on your sign-up age.

1. Attained Age Rated Policy
2. Issue Age Rated Policy
3. Community Rated Policy

Is there a site that lists the Medigap insurance companies by these groups? I live in Alabama.

You can go to planprescriber.com for more detailed information about Medigap (and other insurance) policies for each state. It includes premiums and other criteria. Best site I've seen and covers much information. ;)

From what I've seen, most companies that have Issue Age rated policies give a discount when you enroll that gradually decreases, so it's really more like an Attained Age rate. The only good is that after the discount goes to zero there are no further increases (except that of course any company can increase the rate for any policy at any time).

In my area, the AARP/UHC Medigap plans are community rated. They offer a similar discount to be competitive with the Attained Age plans during first few years. It's a 30% discount the first year that decreases over a 10 year period. After the discount goes to zero, you pay the community rated premium.
