Coverage for Hospital Beds

Does Medicare cover hospital beds? And if so, what are the eligibility requirements?

My understanding is that Medicare will cover hospital beds for home use if it is medically necessary and prescribed by a doctor and obtained from a provider that is authorized to do business with Medicare.

That is just my understanding, that doesn't mean that is the fact. Please check with Medicare directly to verify.
