Dealing with Knee Pain

I have had knee pain before and know that it isn't fun. The linked article mainly talks about seeing a doctor about knee pain, but I think more should be written about how to deal with minor knee pain and prevention of further knee pain. I know I have had success with MSM and Glucosamine tablets and hardly think about knee pain any more.

The below article gives tips on how to tell whether you should see a doctor or not when knee pain is present:

I have had good luck with Flexamin which is the brand name of a mixture of MSM, Glucosamine, and Chondroitin among other things. It is similar to the Osteo Biflex brand I think. Anyway I have been taking it for about a year and it has improved pain in my knees also.

When I walk too much my knee swells up and the only thing that helps it is a couple of days rest. Maybe I'll try some of those pills to see if they help any.

Hey Cece, welcome! I'll have to give pineapple a try for my knee pain. How much you think ya need to eat? Fresh or will canned work?

I never had knee pain until I got to the 30-40 pound overweight mark. Once I dropped about 10 pounds, I could already start to tell the difference in how much pain I had through regular activity. It's amazing what decreasing the weight your knees have to bear will do to everyday pain.

I agree with, Jack. There's something to be said about the weight/knee pain relationship. I've had the same experience with varying pain when my weight would fluctuate.
