Due to a problem with my mail, my quarterly premium for my Medicare Part B coverage did not get paid in time. My part B coverage for prescriptions terminated effective August 1, 2017. I went to the local Social Security office to try to get permission to pay my past due premium and get my prescription coverage reinstated. They had me fill out form SSA-561-U2 REQUEST FOR RECONSIDERATION. On the supplemental portion of that form I went into detail explaining my situation. The guy at the Social Security Office in Lancaster, CA then faxed my completed form to some office back east. I was told that I would soon be getting a phone call back informing me of the verdict on whether or not I will be allowed to resume paying premiums for coverage for the medicines I need to keep my diabetes from killing me. That phone call never came. Meanwhile I am totally out of my Lantus Solostar prescription and my blood sugar levels soon will be spiking. I still have coverage A to pay for amputating my feet, but I don't have access to the medicine I need to prevent my feet from needing to be amputated. What do I do?
