Hi, I do have a question, I work for 2 doctors and one passed away last month. The other doctor is taking over the business, wanting to keep the same NPI and Tax ID #'s. There should be no reason to change its still the same establishment. After talking to Medicare basically what they have to tell us is it will take 6-12 months for paper work to be complete or we can get new NPI and TAX ID #'s. Every time we call we get different answers. PLEASE help...
I can't answer that, but it sounds like you need a lawyer to handle things like the TAX ID and NPI. I would expect a different answer every time you call Medicare. In most cases they are uninformed and just reading off a script.
