Many Middle Income Americans Do Not Understand Medicare

A new study has shown that a large number of middle income Americans that are retirement age do not understand Medicare and what the coverages include as well as the associated costs of Medicare.

Many do not know how much that Medicare will cover for a doctor visit for a hospital stay. In addition almost half did not know that hearing care and eye care are not services that Medicare covers.

It's disappointing that so many are unaware of all the benefits that Medicare can offer. I wish the resources and educational material were more concise. I think the length and breadth of what's out there can really intimidate those that are age-eligible.
 
Just another reason why the insurance agent is so important. There aren't many times when a consumer meets with a professional who is unbiased, provides education and sound advice so that that consumer makes sure she gets into the right plan at the lowest cost. At no cost to her.
