Hi,
I am a new to the world of Medicare coverage. Hope you can help me with some of these questions.
I do medical billing for a Physical Therapist. He wants to provide Medical Massage therapy as a service since some of the patients require this service. Questions are:
- Is Medical Massage covered by Medicare Part B? This would be a "medically prescribed" massage/pain management
- How does Medicare pay for such a service? Does the Massage Therapist need to be individually registered with Medicare and bill separate from the Physical therapy?
OR can the Massage therapist bill Medicare as part of the Physical Therapists organization?
- Any insight into the claim filing for such a setup is greatly appreciated.
I am unable to find information about this situation. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
