It seems like all the news lately has concentrated on the recent reports that Medicare's reserves are expected to be exhausted in 2024 and Social Security in 2036, so how do you plan for the future?
One article emphasizes that you should not panic, that changes will come slow to either program, as they have in the past. The article gives some good insight on planning, especially for Social Security. Two main points I got from reading it was that too many people opt to take Social Security too early, and too many people try to retire too early when they should delay retirement if possible.
