New bipartisan Medicare Plan

Paul Ryan, who earlier this year proposed a plan to privatize Medicare, has unveiled a new bipartisan approach on Thursday for cutting the cost of the government's $525 billion healthcare plan for the elderly.

Beginning in 2022 the plan would provide financial support allowing seniors to opt for insurance plans sold through a new, regulated Medicare exchange intended to reduce costs.
