I have a 10 cm mass verified by ultrasound and MRI. I was referred to an oncologist for surgery. The doctor wants to remove the mass, biopsy it and if it is cancerous, remove surrounding tissue for biopsy. He wants to remove all cancerous tissue before closing. United Health Care will only authorize removal of the mass! They will not cover biopsy of surrounding tissue and possible subsequent removal of tissue! I was told on the phone by the United Health Care representative that surgery was not medically necessary! I am in so much pain I can not get out of bed without pain medication and I have been taking both Dulcolax and Miralax for months. Without them, I can not have a bowel movement. BEWARE: AN AARP RECOMMENDATION DOES NOT ASSURE TRUSTWORTHINESS!!!
