The House is scheduled to vote Tuesday on a economic package that includes raising Medicare premiums for high income beneficaries, which are those people making $85,000 or more for individuals and $170,000 or more for families.
Currenly the top 5 percent of Medicare recipients pay these higher premiums. The proposal being voted on (introduced by Republicans) would expand over time to include the top 25% of highest earning Medicare beneficaries.
