which is better

Holy Hanna my aunt and uncle had Medicare Advantage and it was a nightmare, they both got cancer and had one heck of a time getting the treatment they needed when and where they needed it, they had to jump through so many hoops it was pathetic.
I've heard other horror stories from other folks about Advantage plans too.

I wouldn't touch one of those plans with a ten foot pole.

Whenever something sounds to good to be true, it's not!!

Thanks , I am thinking about a medigap G policy . But how do you find a company that uses the issue age rate ? Everything I have seen , your payment increases every year after the second year.
When you search for Medigap plans on Medicare.gov and it returns the results, there will be a choice to view all available Plan G's in your area. When you do this it lists each insurance company and whether the plan is issue-age rated, attained-age rated, or community rated.

Note that issue-age plan premiums will appear to be higher initially because, as you said, they cannot increase in the future for age, only inflation.

Attained-age plans premiums will be lower initially and increase for both age and inflation. You have to run the numbers to see which is better for you.
