Right now, my wife is still working. I have her insurance for my primary and Medicare for my secondary. We are paying about an extra 60 dollars a week for me being on her insurance. (the amount might change this year) The deductible is 1500 dollars a person or 2500 dollars a family. This insurance also has dental and prescription benefits. I pay at the most 5 dollars per 90 day fill. I was wondering if it would be cheaper for me to go with Medicare as my primary and then get a supplement insurance for a secondary. According to what I read on a Medicare statement, my deductible is only about 150 dollars a year. Not sure if I read that correctly. If I was to go that route, the thing that concerns me is that it took forever to get Medicare to realize that it was secondary from the plan I was on. Don't really want to go through with that hassle again unless it would be a lot cheaper. I have State Farm insurance for my car and they told me they could give me some supplement plans. Any advice which is the best to have?
