Who doesn't need to sign up for Medicare

Some people do not need to sign up to get enrolled in Medicare and get their Medicare card.

You automatically get Medicare Part A and Part B if you collect benefits from Social Security or the Railroad Retirement Board. There is no charge for Part A, but Part B has a premium so if you don't want to keep Part B you need to pay attention to the instructions sent to you when you first receive your Medicare card.

This automatic enrollment in Medicare Part A and Part B begins the first day of the month when you turn 65 years old.

If you get Social Security disability benefits or certain disability benefits from the Railroad Retirement Board your enrollment in Part A and Part B starts the first day of the 25th month after your Social Security or RRB benefits begin.

If you will have the auto enrollment , when can you expect your card [ ? months before you turn 65 ]

My husband turns 65 Dec 11 of this year and he got his Medicare card last Friday, August 16th, he has been collecting SS since he turned 62 and the card just came automatically. Just like they say it will.
